United Fresh Hires Neenan

Rob Neenan, former government affairs vice president for the California League of Food Processors, Sacramento, has joined United Fresh Produce Association as vice president for environmental affairs and sustainability. Neenan will help develop United Fresh’s new Center for Global Produce Sustainability, established last year through a founding grant from Bayer CropScience.

Neenan was with the League of Food Processors since 2005, where he was responsible for environmental, energy, food safety, and other issues affecting the fruit and vegetable processing industry in California. Before that, he was director of trade services at the California Grape and Tree Fruit League for eight years and was an economist in the Agricultural Marketing Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture for ten years.

Neenan joined United Fresh on March 1 and will help lead the association’s first global conference on produce sustainability on April 23, following United Fresh’s annual convention in Las Vegas.
