New Walla Walla Wine Alliance director has been hired...
Elizabeth Martin-Calder, new executive director for the Walla Walla Wine Alliance, will lead the alliance in building national and international recognition of Walla Walla wineries and vineyards. Martin-Calder was senior manager of marketing and communication at the Portland Art Museum, in Portland, Oregon, responsible for marketing and communication strategies. Before that, she had her own private hospitality and tourism marketing firm and a tour company called the African Traveler. She will receive her master's of science degree in business communication from the University of Portland this spring.
The alliance, which was founded three years ago, represents more than 75 wineries and 35 growers in Washington's Walla Walla Valley.
