Washington wine veteran Kendall Mix joins Goose Ridge Vineyard and Estate Winery as head winemaker.
Washington wine veteran Kendall Mix joins Goose Ridge Vineyard and Estate Winery as head winemaker. Mix will oversee winemaking for all three wines that comprise the Monson Family Estates’ portfolio: Goose Ridge, StoneCap, and Sol Duc.
Mix was most recently winemaker for Corliss Estates in Walla Walla, where he’s been for six years. Before that, he spent a year with Canoe Ridge Vineyard in Walla Walla and ten years with Chateau Ste. Michelle as a member of its red winemaking team. Before coming to Washington State, Mix completed four vintages in California’s wine industry. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in microbiology and studied viticulture and enology at the University of California, Davis.
He takes the winemaking reins from Charlie Hoppes, who served as consulting winemaker for Goose Ridge since the wines’ debut in 1999. Goose Ridge recently opened a wine tasting room in Woodinville to better serve western Washington. Goose Ridge also has a tasting room at its Richland winery.
