Field day to highlight tree fruit research
David Granatstein will discuss mulches during WSU’s annual field day.

David Granatstein with Washington State University’s Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources, will discuss use of mulches for weed control and water management during the Wenatchee Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center’s field day on August 16.
The program also includes presentations about research on mechanical thinning, crop load management, replant disease, apple breeding, and biological control of pests.
WSU President Elson Floyd and Dr. Dan Bernardo, dean of the College of Agriculture, Human, and Natural Resources Sciences, will be at the event to meet with orchardists.
The field day will be at Sunrise Orchard (off Highway 28 between Wenatchee and Quincy) starting at 5:00 p.m. A poster presentation and barbecue dinner will follow the presentations.
