International organic symposium planned in Washington
An international research symposium to explore the current and future state of organic fruit production and marketing will be held June 18-21, 2012, in Leavenworth, Washington.
The conference “Organic Fruit: From Research to Practice” will cover crop production, plant protection, plant pathology, genetics, soils and nutrition, postharvest issues markets, policy, economics, and environmental impacts.
The conference, which will feature tours to farms and fruit companies, is a follow-up to an organic fruit conference in Vignola, Italy, in 2008. It is sponsored by the International Society of Horticultural Science and organized by Washington State University.
