Peachy tower
Richard Lehnert
Gaffney, South Carolina, proclaims its pride in the local peach industry with this water tower, clearly visible for several miles from I-85, which the city built in 1981. The million-gallon tower is 150 feet tall; the leaf is 60 feet long and 16 wide. The steel was actually shaped to contain a peach suture line.
