Frank Howell 1932-2012
Former U.S. Department of Agriculture researcher, Dr. Franklin Howell, died on October 21, 2012, at the age of 80 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Howell served as an entomologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Yakima, Washington, for over 30 years, publishing much of his work in books and journals, and numerous articles in the Good Fruit Grower magazine. During his lifetime, he was in charge of several research projects in India and Pakistan and participated in an extended study in Tunisia.
Howell did his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University and earned his doctorate from Washington State University.
Survivors include his wife Luella, and their children Tamara, Bryan, and Loren.
