Schlagel named viticulture director
Milbrandt Vineyards, one of Washington State’s largest family-owned winery and vineyard operations, recently named Jason Schlagel as its director of viticulture.
Schlagel joined Milbrandt Vineyards in early 2012 as senior viticulturist, responsible for management of the organization’s ten estate vineyards in the Wahluke Slope appellation and consulted for sites in the Ancient Lakes and Columbia Valley appellations. With his promotion to director of viticulture, Schlagel will oversee all vineyard site operations and manage outside grower relations.
Jerry Milbrandt said this about Schlagel: “Jason is a valued and respected member of the wine grape community with many years experience working in viticulture with growers and wineries.”
Before joining Milbrandt, Schlagel’s was viticulturist for five years for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in Paterson, Washington. He earned his bachelor of science degree in horticulture from Washington State University.
