The Washington State Horticultural Association is inviting growers to help take a unified industry voice to the Washington State capital of Olympia by attending the eleventh annual Tree Fruit Day on January 29.

The one-day event provides an opportunity for producers to meet with legislators and their staff to bring attention to issues that are affecting Washington growers, such as labor shortages, E-Verify, increased buffers and notice requirements, tax increases, and more.

Tree Fruit Day allows growers to tell their stories of how proposed measures will impact their orchard operations and help legislators, most of whom lack an agricultural background, understand how proposed legislation may significantly impact the industry.

For more information, contact Stephanie at the Hort Association office at (509) 665-9641 or visit the Tree Fruit Day Web page.
