Allied Grape Growers is a California winegrape growers cooperative with nearly 600 members throughout the coastal and interior regions of California. Allied Grape Growers effectively and equitably market winegrapes to nearly 100 outlets. Allied is grower owned, and our priority is to provide grower-members with the highest return possible for their grapes.

Allied also strives to provide grower-members with as much up-to-date market information as possible. Allied understands the unique challenge winegrape growers face in the marketing of their crops. Allied provides the services possible to allow them to concentrate on what they do bestgrow high quality winegrapes.

The California Association of Winegrape Growers is a statewide association dedicated to enhancing the business of growing wine grapes through research, advocacy, and industry leadership.

CAWG represents the growers of more than 60 percent of the gross grape tonnage crushed for wine and concentrate in California. It sponsors the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium, January 23-25, 2007.

The California Canning Peach Association is a bargaining and marketing cooperative, solely owned by cling peach growers. It is responsible for negotiating an equitable price and terms of sale, along with marketing of its members production. The association represents over 80 percent of the cling peach tonnage produced in California with activities encompassing the peach industry from the orchard to the marketplace, both domestic and foreign.

California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) is a nonprofit, membership-based organic certification and trade association dedicated to promoting and supporting organic agriculture in California and around the world.

Founded in 1973, CCOF was one of the first organizations to certify organic farms in North America. Today, CCOF is the largest organic certification and trade association in California with more than 1,400 members and over 180,000 acres of certified organic land, certifying over 75% of the certified organic agriculture in California.

CCOF certifies all stages of organic production and sales, organic farmers, processors, wholesalers, private labelers, and retailers. CCOF is dedicated to organic certification, public outreach and education about organic food and organic agriculture, and advocacy for governmental policies that protect and encourage organic agriculture in California and throughout the United States. CCOF is a member of the Organic Trade Association and the International Federation of Organic Agricul- tural Movements (IFOAM). CCOF is also accredited by IFOAM, and by USDA/ AMS for ISO 65 Guide compliance as well as for compliance with the National Organic Program.

The California Cherry Advisory Board administers the state marketing order for four varieties of fresh sweet cherries, which are Bing, Rainier, Van, and Lambert. The board directs advertising and promotion programs in both domestic and foreign markets.

The board also compiles statistics and funds research. The boards activities are funded by assessments paid by growers and packers of the four varieties mentioned.

The California Dried Plum Board (CDPB) administers a state marketing order for dried plums (prunes) under the authority of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. CDPB funds advertising, public relations, sales promotion, market research, production, and processing research and educational programs through assessments paid by growers and handlers.

Established March 1992, the California Pear Advisory Board is a state agricultural marketing order organized under the California Agricultural Marketing Act of 1937, which allows farmers to assess themselves to fund various industry programs.

The marketing order covers both fresh and processed Bartlett pears produced n California. Mandated programs include promotion, research, standardization, policy, pesticide advocacy, and the cumulating of industry statistics and information.

The California Tree Fruit Agreement, headquartered in Reedley, California, administers marketing order programs on behalf of Californias 2,000 fresh peach, plum, and nectarine farmers. Originally established in 1933, CTFA now includes the Peach Commodity Committee and the Nectarine Administrative Committee, both programs, and the California Plum Marketing Board, a state program.

The programs are run by elected grower committees and operate with oversight of federal and state agricultural departments. Through the activities of these orders, growers fund efforts to create a favorable environment in which to grow and market their products. CTFAs marketing efforts take direction from these grower committees, which oversee the domestic and international marketing programs as well as programs on research and quality control.

This new committee is a result of the amendment of MO#927 in 2005, that merged the Winter Pear Control Committee and Northwest Fresh Bartlett Marketing Committee. This committeesets Northwest fresh pears assessments for promotion and research.The promotion of Northwest fresh pears is contracted with the Pear Bureau Northwest (also administered in Milwaukie, OR).The Fresh Pear Committee is responsible for establishing fruit grade, size and container standards; conducting post- and pre-harvest research; collecting and disseminating industry statistics and crop reports.

A committee of 13 growers and shippers, elected from each of the pear-growing regions, governs the Fresh Pear Committee.
