The magazine U.S. News and World Report has released its ranking of universities that are tops in the world in plant and animal sciences, and New York’s Cornell University got the top position.

Other universities among the top 100 in the plant and animal science group include University of California, Davis (2), UC-Berkeley (3), Harvard University (4), University of Florida (9), Michigan State University (12), Oregon State (28), Pennsylvania State (30), University of Washington (35), Ohio State (46), and Washington State University (53). In the ranking for best universities for agriculture programs generally, Cornell University ranked third in the world, behind Wageningen University in the Netherlands and UC Davis. University of Massachusetts and University of Florida were also in the top ten.
