Training for a Recall

The United Fresh Research and Education Foundation is accepting registrations for a course entitled "Training for a Recall, Communicating Under Fire" that will be offered August 26-28 in Yakima, Washington. The course includes a two-day workshop on how to prevent a produce recall from becoming a crisis, and a half day of media training.

Winemaking for Beginners

Washington State University Extension is offering a one-day beginner’s workshop on winemaking at its Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center in Mount Vernon on June 30. Kerry Ringer, Extension enologist and food scientist, will lead the workshop, which is tailored for maritime production. Speakers include Rick Casqueiro, sparkling winemaker at Domaine St. Michelle; Jim Harbertson, Extension enologist; Charles Edwards, WSU wine microbiologist; and Mike Moyer of Walla Walla Community College.
