Nominations for grower and handler positions on the Processed Pear Committee, which is administered by the Washington State Fruit Commission, will take place during industry meetings in December and January. The committee manages federal marketing order provisions relating to the handling of pears for processing.

Nominations for Washington handler positions will take place during the annual Washington State Tree Fruit Association meeting at the Yakima Convention Center on December 7. Handlers whose terms expire this year are Rob Stewart (Peter Verbrugge, first alternative, Rod Matson, 2nd alternate).

Nominations for Washington grower positions will be held during the annual North Central Washington Pear Day at the Wenatchee Convention Center on January 20. Growers whose terms expire this year are Andrew Sundquist, (Ed Kenoyer, first alternate, Mike Taylor, second alternate).

Positions expire June 30, 2016.
