An irrigation management workshop in Spanish is scheduled for March 29 in Hood River, Oregon.

The event has been organized to educate Spanish speaking agricultural workers on comprehensive irrigation water management for improved fruit production and responsible water use.

The workshop, which is free, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pine Grove Grange at 2835 Van Horn Drive in Hood River. Lunch is provided.

The training will cover water-holding capacity and other characteristics of soils, flow rates for common irrigation systems, soil moisture monitoring, crop demands, irrigation scheduling and more. The training is provided by The Next Step from Wenatchee Valley College, along with the Hood River Soil and Conservation District and OSU Extension Service.
