In partnership with the National Grape Research Alliance, the American Society for Enology and Viticulture announced in a news release an opportunity for grape growers to learn how data-driven approaches can improve their businesses through putting precision viticulture technologies into practice.

The ASEV-NGRA Precision Viticulture Demo Day is scheduled Wed., April 13 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Salinas, California.

“We’re at the stage in precision viticulture research where vineyards are implementing and showing results,” Tom Collins, ASEV president, said in the release. “That’s why we’re excited to partner with NGRA to share research in action with the industry and showcase the technology in practice.”

According to the release, the event is designed to help growers understand and adopt advances in data-driven farming. Participants will tour three early-adopting precision viticulture operations in the Salinas Valley and see one of the largest row-crop growers in the U.S. Along the way, cutting-edge precision technology and service providers will conduct in-field demonstrations.

Registration includes lunch, a post-event reception and bus transportation to all tour stops. For more information and to register, go to: asev.org/2022-asev-ngra-precision-viticulture-demo-day.

“We hope Demo Day provides growers with valuable information that can help them make improvements in their own practices,” NGRA President Donnell Brown said in the release. “Both NGRA and ASEV value and celebrate research advances to the grape industry, and we’re excited with the progress and solutions that are being implemented.”

Funding for the ASEV-NGRA Precision Viticulture Demo Day is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
