The meeting will be held at the Best Western Hood River Inn 1108 E Marina Way, Hood River, OR 97031.

Only Fresh pear growers from the Mid-Columbia district (Hood River and Wasco Counties in OR and Skamania and Klickitat counties in WA) are eligible to nominate and vote in this election. The positions to be filled include: Dane Klindt — Member, Erick von Lubken – 1st Alternate, and Derek DeBorde – 2nd Alternate.

These positions’ third consecutive term is expiring on June 30, 2022. As three consecutive terms is the limit, the members are not eligible for another term in the same positions. They are eligible to serve in different positions. Names of those elected will be submitted to the United States Secretary of Agriculture for official appointment to the committee, and will serve for a two-year term.

Among other duties, The Fresh Pear Committee is responsible for setting the assessment rates for research and promotion and advertising of all pears marketed in the domestic and export markets.

The committee encourages eligible women, minorities, and the physically challenged, who qualify as pear growers, to attend and participate in the nomination proceedings.
