Pear Handler FPC position nomination meeting

Pear handlers will elect nominees for positions on the Fresh Pear Committee (FPC) of Marketing Order #927. The committee is responsible for the collection of assessments for research, and the promotion and advertising of all pears marketed in the domestic and export markets.
There is a Handler FPC position for the Yakima district to be filled at the nomination meeting at 11:00 AM on February 13, 2019 at the Hansen Building at 105 S 18th St # 205, Yakima, WA 98901. There was a previous election, in which there was a nomination for Gene Woodin as the Member only; this nomination meeting will be to nominate a 1st Alternate and 2nd Alternate. To clarify, this is a follow-up meeting intended to complete the nomination for the Yakima Handler position beginning July 1.
All pear growers and handlers are eligible to attend and participate in the respective nominations. The committee encourages women, minorities, and the physically challenged, who qualify as pear growers/handlers, to attend and participate in the nomination proceedings. Names of those elected will be submitted to the Secretary of Agriculture for official appointment to the committee, and will serve for a two-year period.
