The Washington Apple Education Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2023 scholarship program.

According to a news release, more than 350 scholarships are available to eligible candidates throughout Washington.

WAEF universal scholarships are available for students with direct ties to the Washington tree fruit industry or who are interested in a Washington tree fruit career pathway.

Students interested in pursuing a vocational trade related to the Washington tree fruit industry — such as refrigeration, electrical or information technology — at an accredited trade, technical or community college are eligible for a WAEF vocational scholarship.

Applications must include two signed letters of recommendation and an official transcript from the student’s high school, college or university.

Students who receive a WAEF scholarship can renew their scholarships for up to four years of their undergraduate studies, as long as renewal requirements are met. Each WAEF student also receives support services through the organization’s “Beyond the Scholarship” program, which includes mentoring, care packages, educational workshops, networking opportunities and career exploration.

More information and an application form are available online at: waef.org/scholarships. The deadline for 2023 WAEF scholarship applications is 11:59 p.m. March 1, 2023.
