A peach and plum variety showcase will be held at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center at Benton Harbor on August 27.
Fruit variety displays will be open for viewing at 4:00 p.m., with discussions beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. It will be followed by discussions on the brown marmorated stinkbug, spotted wing drosophila, and other emergent pests. There will also be updates on peach thinning, peach and plum breeding, and the outlook for Michigan plums.
The event is organized by Michigan Peach Sponsors, Michigan Plum Advisory Board, Summit Tree Sales, International Plant Management, and Michigan State University Extension.
