Nominations for positions on the Washington/Oregon Processed Pear Committee will take place during the following industry public meetings: 

—Washington State Tree Fruit Association Annual Meeting, Dec. 5, 1:15 p.m., at the Wenatchee Convention Center in Wenatchee, Washington. Nominations are open for Washington grower positions currently held by member Shawn Phelps and first alternate Ron Ball and a Washington handler member position, currently vacant, and first alternate position held by Gene Woodin Jr. 

—Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers annual grower/handler meeting, date and location to be determined. Nominations are open for Oregon handler positions currently held by member S. Jason Moore and first alternate Ben Roby. 

—Pacific Northwest Canned Pear Service annual meeting, date and location to be determined. Nominations are open for WA/OR processor positions currently held by member Dusty Edler and first alternate Jon Holt. 

—Processed Pear Committee annual meeting, date and location to be determined. Nominations are open for WA/OR public positions currently held by member Ken Severn and first alternate Mike Willett. 

These positions with the Processed Pear Committee are each two-year terms beginning July 1, 2023, and expiring June 30, 2025. The committee encourages women, minorities and the physically challenged, who qualify, to attend and participate in the election proceedings. 

The Processed Pear Committee was established to administer federal marketing order provisions relating to the handling of pears for processing.
