Robert Snyder, a former partner at C&O Nursery in Wenatchee, Washington, died June 19 at the age of 94.

Snyder grew up in Wenatchee. He became a U.S. Air Force cadet and graduated from the Hancock Foundation College of Aeronautics in California. He later earned a degree in business administration from the University of Washington, then worked for Sherwin Williams Ag Business for several years in Washington and Idaho. When the company went out of business, he moved to Wenatchee to work for H.R. Spinner Company as a salesman covering the Columbia Basin.

In 1953, Snyder and his brothers John and Gene bought out C&O Fruit Tree and Landscaping Company from their father Bert and his uncle Andy Gossman.

He served as president of the Washington Nursery Association and the Chelan/Douglas County Farm Bureau. He was director general of the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival in 1993.

He is survived by his daughter Theresa Snyder O’Brian of Quincy; sons Brian and Jim Snyder of Wenatchee; and sister Margaret Sampon of Wenatchee.
