The first annual Tree Fruit Ski Day will be held at Mission Ridge, Wenatchee, Washington, on March 8 to benefit the Doug Zahn Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is managed by the Washington Apple Education Foundation.
Zahn was a long-time orchardist at Pateros, Washington. He was a member of the Washington Growers Clearing House Association’s board for almost 30 years and served as president. He was an avid skier, continuing into his later years.
Registration for a full day of skiing costs $45 and covers preferred parking if arriving before 10 a.m., lift tickets, catered lunch, and free ski tips from PSIA-certified instructors. Registration costs $35 for the afternoon. Ski or snowboard rentals and private or group lessons are available at a discounted cost.
