The US Apple Association, giving the first report on the 2017 apple crop, says this year’s fresh apple holdings on April 1, 2018, totaled 61.3 million bushels, 16 percent more than the inventories reported for April 1 of last year.

Processing holdings totaled  26.1 million bushels, 20 percent more than last year on April 1.  The total number of apples in storage on April 1, 2018, was 87.4 million bushels, 17 percent more than last April’s total of 74.8million bushels and 20 percent above the 5 year average for that date.
