The Okanagan Horticultural Advisor’s Group and BC Fruit Growers’ Association announced in a news release an upcoming seminar and discussion titled “Feeling the Heat: Effects of the Summer Heat Event on Tree Fruit in the PNW.”

The online event will be held Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In the morning session, research experts from British Columbia, Oregon and Washington will discuss how the 2021 heat event affected tree fruit production and fruit quality in the Pacific Northwest. The afternoon session will feature a panel of growers and packers providing their perspectives, followed by discussion groups on ways to encourage future collaboration throughout the Pacific Northwest to help tree fruit growers adapt to a changing climate.
