Four agencies are co-sponsoring training sessions on federal and state labor requirements for farm labor.

The training is free but seating is limited.

One training session will be held in Washington state on May 8 in Union Gap and another on May 10 in Wenatchee.

“These events have been coordinated to inform and educate agricultural employers and their supervisory personnel on the various federal and state requirements concerning agricultural labor requirements,” said a spokesperson for the U.S. Dept. of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, one of the event sponsors.

Each forum will cover wage and hour requirements, safety in transportation and housing, workers compensation claims and more.

A team from the state and federal agencies will present sessions in English and Spanish on best practices in the field for supervisors and crew leaders to maintain compliance with federal and state laws concerning recordkeeping, disclosure of working conditions, hiring, transportation, housing and workers compensation.
