USA Pears will be part of the Wellness Expo at the 2019 South by Southwest (SXSW) cultural event in Austin, Texas, March 9 and 10.

In its second year, the SXSW Wellness Expo was created to bring thousands of SXSW attendees interested in healthy living together with companies in the health and wellness industry.

“As an organization, we are constantly looking for innovative consumer and industry events where we will be able to intersect with younger, health-conscious pear lovers,” said Kathy Stephenson, marketing communications director for Pear Bureau Northwest, in a news release.

At the Wellness Expo, USA Pears will offer samples of freshly sliced organic and conventional Green Anjou pears while educating attendees about pears being a heart-healthy choice, with low calories, zero fat and 6 grams of fiber per medium-sized pear.

March is also National Nutrition Month, making this an ideal opportunity for USA Pears to promote the benefits of eating whole foods and increasing fruit consumption to decrease risks of heart disease, diabetes and other serious illnesses.

“The Wellness Expo is an exciting opportunity to raise awareness about the nutritional benefits of pears,” Stephenson said.
