One Commissioner position to the 17-member Washington State Fruit Commission board of directors will be up for nomination during an annual processor meeting on Feb. 24, according to B.J. Thurlby, commission president. 

Processor Position No. 15, currently held by Steve Carlson, is up for nomination. 

The meeting will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Yakima Steak Co., 221 W. Yakima Ave. in Yakima, Washington. 

Commissioner positions to the WSFC board are each three-year terms. The term for Position No. 15 will begin May 1 and expire April 30, 2025. 

Written nominations, signed by five persons qualified to vote for a nominee, may be made within five days following this nomination meeting and may be filed with the commission by mail at: 105 S. 18th St., Ste. 205, Yakima, WA 98901, or by fax at: (509) 453-4880. 

The WSFC encourages qualifying women, minorities and the physically challenged to attend and participate in the nomination proceedings.
