Washington State Fruit Commission President B.J. Thurlby announced four commissioner positions on the 16-member board of directors will be up for nomination during meetings scheduled in January and February.

On Jan. 7 during the Cherry Institute annual meeting at the Yakima Convention Center in Yakima, nominations will be accepted for the following positions:

—Producer Position #3, District #1 (position currently held by Norm Gutzwiler).

—Dealer Position #13, District #2 (position currently held by Robert Kershaw).

—Producer Position #9, District #3 (position currently held by Patrick Sullivan).

In February 2022 at the Annual Processor’s Meeting, on a day yet to be determined, nominations will be accepted for the following position:  

—Processor Position #15 (position currently held by Steve Carlson).

Commissioner positions on the WSFC board are each three-year terms beginning May 1, 2022, and expiring April 30, 2025. Written nominations, signed by five persons qualified to vote for the said nominees, may be made up to five days immediately following the nomination meeting and shall be filed with the commission at: 105 South 18th Street, #205, Yakima, WA 98901, or emailed to: legal@wastatefruit.com.
