Mrachek was reelected to the board last winter for a three-year term. Ed Clark, a cherry grower in East Wenatchee, who is the alternate for Mrachek’s position, has been invited to complete the term. Jeff Goshorn of Independent Foods, Yakima, who has served in a processor position on the board since 2008, has also stepped down. His alternate, Doug Field, president of Excel Fruit Brokerage in Yakima, has been invited to complete the term. Elections will be held when the terms expire in 2014.
Mike Mrachek, a cherry, apple, and wine grape grower in Wenatchee, Washington, has retired from the board of the Washington State Fruit Commission after serving for 16 years. He was chair of the board in 2009-2010.
