A new program to educate and improve agricultural safety for workers will be announced at a public forum August 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Pasco, Washington, Red Lion Hotel.
The forum will allow the public to hear about the newly launched program, called Agriculture Customized Training and Safety, from government and agricultural associations.
Once the program is unveiled, the public is encouraged to provide feedback in a round-table–style environment.
“We want to know from employers what they want from us,” ACTS trainer Jeff Robinson said. “A lot will depend on what we learn from this meeting.”
The ACTS training will include sessions covering tractor safety, ladder safety, forklift certification, personal protective equipment training, and other seminars for agricultural employers to provide to workers.
The forum is sponsored by the Opportunities Industrialization Center of Washington.
