Washington State University Extension announced in a news release the formation of a spotted wing drosophila advisory group.

Cherry and blueberry growers and consultants are wanted to participate in the advisory group looking at areawide, chemical and parasitic control of SWD. Multiple grants are funding the project, according to the release.

The minimum commitment is to attend two annual meetings where information on new research is presented and industry feedback via listening sessions is solicited. There will also be options to participate in research or provide additional one-on-one guidance with the research team.
