Add the annual Tree Fruit Day in Olympia, Washington, to the list of events going virtual during the pandemic.

The Washington State Tree Fruit Association is calling for growers to sign up for the group’s digital version of its annual lobbying “trip” to the state legislature on Jan. 26.

The 2021 legislative session is virtual, so WSTFA is arranging Zoom conferences with lawmakers. The organization plans to team growers with other industry representatives and provide briefings and orientation ahead of time.

This year, legislators will likely tackle fuel taxes, overtime pay and, of course, the coronavirus, among other issues that affect agriculture.
