Tree fruit industry members are invited to discuss water management with experts in a series of virtual meetings in June.

The series, “Water Wisdom: Navigating Tree Fruit Production Through Drought and Deluge,” is organized by the North American Summer Virtual Orchard Meetup Program, a group of extension leaders from different regions who have been convening virtual orchard management conversations since 2021.

“Over the past decade, growers have experienced unpredictable rainfall, water availability challenges, droughts and deluges,” organizers said in the meeting announcement. “We want to explore methods for adapting to these challenges and discuss alternatives for efficient irrigation practices, including advances in irrigation technologies that help growers produce high-quality fruit.”

Sessions will be held on Thursdays in June at 7 p.m. EDT (4 p.m. PDT).

Topics include: trends in water availability; the role of water in tree fruit physiology and quality; smart watering practices for irrigation management; and a panel discussion.
