Nancy Jo Born is a past Production Manager of Good Fruit Grower, overseeing the magazine’s design and layout, providing art direction and quality control, and coordinating art, editorial, and print production for over 30 years and retired in 2014.
Nancy grew up on an apple and cherry orchard in the Yakima Valley near Prosser, and has experience budding and grafting nursery trees, pruning, spraying, thinning and picking apples, and driving tractor in harvest.
After attending the University of Washington, Central Washington University, and the University of Oregon, Nancy entered the publishing industry via typography and graphic design stints at printing firms in Prosser, Yakima, and Phoenix, Arizona.
She received the Washington State Horticultural Association Women’s Leadership Through Service Award in 1999. Nancy has been with Good Fruit Grower since 1984.
